 Teach in a variety of classrooms as an English teacher in the Haverford Township School District.  Currently involved with the planning, implementing and instruction of the tenth grade World Literatures curriculum in conjunction with the tenth grade World Cultures social studies course.  Previously taught ninth grade English, public speaking, creative writing, informational technology, and culminating senior project courses.  Extracurricular activities involve sponsoring the GSA student group, Writers Guild, and previous experience co-coaching the Speech and Debate team, and involvement with the Haverford Township School District Language Arts Task Force.

Coordinator/Instructor for Peer Education Course

As the Director of Residence Life for Chatham College, helped design and implement a Peer Education Course for Resident Assistants and student leaders on the campus.  Created curriculum goals and helped to coordinate special lessons and speakers for the course.  Taught a variety of subjects including classes on conflict mediation and resolution, diversity issues, programming goals and leadership.

Director of Residence Life

Worked within the Division of Student Affairs as the Director of Residence Life to supervise and promote the successful academic, psychological, physical and personal development of 400 female undergraduate students living within the residential community of Chatham College. Responsibilities included:

  • Coordinated and taught a Peer Education course directed at Resident Assistants and student leaders;
  • Created and implemented training programs for professional and student staffs, including Resident Assistant and Orientation Leader training programs;
  • Supervised a professional residential staff of 4 and a student staff of 30;
  • Coordinated International Student Services for the College, including the implementation of orientation programs, cultural and educational programs, advised international students and advised the International Student Association;
  • Supervised the overall safety, facilities maintenance, staffing and residential communities of 4 residence halls and 1 apartment complex for undergraduate students;
  • Served on a variety of campus committees including the International Task Force, Safety Committee, Pittsburgh Liquor Control Board Grant Committee, and Chathams E-College-ie Committee; and,
  • Created and distributed a variety of promotional materials, including the creation of web sites for the department.

Coordinator, International Student Services and Resident Director

Created and implemented a variety of programs to support the international student population of Chatham College as well as to educate the whole of campus on international and intercultural issues. In addition, worked as a Residence Life staff member to promote student development and growth within the residential campus community. Responsibilities included:

  • Aided in the development and implementation of a Peer Education course directed at Resident Assistants and student leaders;
  • Planned, coordinated and implemented sessions for both traditional and international student orientation programs;
  • Planned and coordinated special events for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Womens' History Month, and a variety of traditional international celebrations;
  • Aided and advised the international student population during their adjustment to life in the United States and to the College; and,
  • Supervised a student staff of 15.
